Sir John Greene is said to take been born nigh 1408 (some trees say 1404) in Northamptonshire, England and to have died in 1486 in Gillingham, Dorset, England. Some trees say he is the son of Sir Thomas Greene and Mary Talbot; others that he is the son of Henry Greene and Matilda Mauduit.
No contemporary sources have been found for a person of the surname Green(east) living in Gillingham in the 1400s. In that location is also no evidence of a connexion between the Greene family unit of Gillingham in the mid 1500s and the Greene family of Drayton or Greene's Norton (Northamptonshire) in the early 1400s, every bit would be suggested by this contour.
This contour seems to be based in function on John Greene (abt.1387-1433), although the birth and decease dates on this profile do not friction match that John Greene.

The earliest Greene that has been found in Gillingham is recorded in a 1525 Dorset Subsidy Roll. This contour and others for Gillingham Greenes in the 1400s appear in many online family trees and some printed works from the 1900s, merely these practice not provide reliable sources for their information. Sir John Grene, Knight and Lord of Drayton, was born most 1408 in Greene's Norton, Canton Northampshire, England, and died 1486 in Drayton near Gillingham, County Dorset, England. He is the son of Sir Thomas Greene and Mary Talbot. Sir John too married a "Gillingham Greene" cousin Mary Margaret Grene born Abt. 1408 in Bridgenorth, County Shropshire, England. She was the daughter of Sir Walter De Grene and 2nd wife Lady Elizabeth Warner. (Annotation: Sir Walter was the son of Sir Walter b c1360, and grandson of to a higher place Sir Henry de Grene and married woman Lady Katherine de Drayton.) This is when the Greene family started living mostly in Gillingham, County Dorset, England. Sir Walter and 2nd wife Lady Elizabeth too had at least one son Walter who was born Abt. 1403 in Bridgenorth, County Shropshire, England. The engagement of his death is unknown. In that location may have been other children past Sir Walter and Lady Elizabeth. Sir Walter and 1st wife Miss unknown de Sancto Ivone (b:1370-d:1400, d/o Adam de Sancto Ivone) are said to exist buried at the Hayes Church, County Shropshire, England.
